History - Our Path Up To Now

The Sundance Center was created in 2001 shortly after Ulla and Fred bouht a house that came with a horse, a 28-year-old quarter horse, Sundance. Sundance was a great teacher alongside their professional mentors at EAGALA in Utah and Horses of Hope in Kansas. Beginning with a few group workshops and a couple of one-on-one clients, they were soon able to hire Kerry Mulso as horse professional and all around horse mentor. This helped allow regular sessions, and provided great insight into the equine world. We are very grateful for Kerry's daily guidance, training and insight.

The Sundance Center has been featured in the Kalamazoo Gazette and is an authorized provider for Kalamazoo County Mental Health and a number of insurance providers.

In 2007 the Sundance Center introduced, "Discovering Your Herd" a workshop program providing team discovery to businesses, teams and groups of all kinds.

In 2008, the Sundance Center began to transition the equine programming to Fennville, MI - home of the newly established Red Horse Ranch, with visions of a retreat center on the horizon.

Ulla continues her training with EAGALA, and reached advanced certification status in 2009. In spring of 2009, Ulla and Fred presented lessons from the Sundance Center's path at EAGALA’s Annual Conference in Asheville, North Carolina, and again in 2010 in Layton, Utah.
